I was just thinking it seems these days alot of upper middle class and middle class people are shopping for healthier and more costly foods, and also getting nicer clothing that lasts longer.
It seems most people also like to visit and tour cities that have higher-end shopping and dining than they are used to.
For example, in California many people will go shop in San Francisco at Union Square which has Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Sak's Fifth Avenue, and other high end clothing stores and restaurants.
I can think of several cities that have people rather visit or many middle class and upper middle class people live in a city with nicer businesses.
I think sometimes also people get carried away and want to prevent big box centers and prevents businesses like Wal-Mart which take away from local businesses and more pricey shops because people decide to save at the cheaper places. Sometimes though cities have low-end and high-end stores.
I personally would prefer shopping at nicer places and enjoy live by doing so.

I dream of the day the likes of walmart, CVS, and Walgreens are shut down permanently in my hometown.
Some high-end places that I like to get certain products are:
Food: Trader Joes and New Frontier's Natural Market (local natural food super market)
Clothes: Macy's, Banana Republic, Men's Warehouse (well, not really, but when I hit 25 or so I will)
Restauraunts: Novo, McClintocks, Palazzo Giuseppe, etc... (high end locally owned restauraunts)
And then there is Volvo and BMW car dealerships near me. Nissan, Toyota, Ford, Chevrolet, Honda, and Chrysler lean to be more middle class car brands.
