Here, in Florida, our most popular supermarkets are Publix. We also had Winn Dixie and Albertsons, but many if not most of those stores closed.

So, what Supermarkets/grocery stores are popular in your state, area, or even province if you're in Canada?

None of the ones listed are over here. In the Bay area i guess the biggest grocery chains we have are:

-Safeway
-Lucky
-Costco
-99 Ranch (Asian supermarket chain, with most stores in the Bay Area and LA area)
-Trader Joe's
-Whole Foods
-Mollie Stones

Then of course there's also Target/Walmart.

Publix is a monopoly. It's interesting no other grocery store chains can compete with them and how other chains don't see the state as an opportunity to expand.

I think Texas still has a piggly wiggly, but besides that; none of the above.

Texas:

HEB
Kroger
Fiesta
Sam's Club
Costco
Randalls
Whole Foods
Brookshire's
Tom Thumb
Albertons's
Central Market

and a lot more

Lafayette Louisiana still has a Winn Dixie and a Piggly Wiggly and both places are better to shop at than horrible Wal Mart.

South Louisiana: Winn-Dixie, Piggly Wiggly, Albertsons, Super1, Rouses, Adrien's, among others.

K-mart somewhat packed up and left the State except for a few locations. Now if we can get the travesties Known as Walmart and Target to follow in K-mart's footsteps. Unfortunately that does not seem to be happening anytime soon.

In the Youngstown area, there are the local chains, like Rulli Brothers and Sparkle Market, the budget chains, like Save-a-Lot and Aldi's, and the bigger chains, like Giant Eagle, Sam's Club, and IGA.
