My husband and I have made the drive from CO to CT many times, but this year (probably next week) we'll be travelling with our 22 month old in an RV. We will not be able to put down the same amount of miles as we could without a kid, so we're looking for places to stop and explore along the way. We typically take I-70, since there are less tolls and less traffic, but we're not adverse to taking I-80 if there are more places to visit. We had originally planned on taking one or two side trips, but I'm not sure if either of us wants to turn this into a week long trek. We are also hoping to find some campgrounds along the way since it's much safer than stopping at rest areas.

Anyway, I just thought I'd check here to see if anyone has any advice or opinions on which route to take and where to stop.
