Weird. I have driven extensively including most of the places already mentioned and never noticed tailgating to be any more prevalent in one place over another. I don't think that I pay enough attention or I'm not bothered by it. Or more likely I usually keep pace with traffic.
Mass is pretty bad. I think our drivers are obnoxious, unfortunately.
Rhode Islanders seem to be a little bit worse. Maybe not with tailgating, but definitely with cutting across 5 lanes to make an exit, or just cutting people off in general.
Frankly, I don't think NYC is bad. Yes, they ride close to you, but they're not as dangerous as they are in MA or RI. There seems to be a method to the madness (they'll ride close, but they'll stop on a dime too). As far as driver courtesy goes, NYC is among my favorites. Drivers are fast (when conditions allow it which is rare) and aggressive, but they're also great at alternate merging, turning, etc. I'd rather drive in New York than in Boston, Providence or Miami any day.
Miami has to be the worst place to drive. Tailgaters there are reckless and obnoxious (more so than in MA... or maybe I'm just used to it).
I'll vote for Colorado. Just got nailed making a right turn during a snowstorm last Wednesday. The idiot was so close to my bumper that I couldn't see his headlights. He had a 4-wheel drive pickup so he was invincible. 4-wheel drive doesn't mean 4-wheel stop on black ice. After the accident the idiot tells me I'd signaled too late. NO- ITS BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T SEE MY SIGNAL LIGHTS MORNON!!
Organ drivers are supposed to be polite because they don't honk but they tailgate as aggressively as I can imagine and its not because of road rage-it's merely pure stupidity.
I've noticed people have been driving pretty rude the last few days and tailgating me. I blame astrology. The leap day was yesterday, and people are influenced by the stars and not used to having an extra day in February. It's making everyone antsy, kind of similar to a full moon.
Thank you. Was still too infuriated for spell check I would have really been embarrassed if I'd of spelled "Mormon" (especially if I still lived in UT).
