Last year, America's millionaire population grew by 7.3%, with Houston growing most with an increase of 9.6%.

Here's the list!

1. New York City 720,000 (+7.9%) % of adult pop: 4.65%
2. Los Angeles 256,500 (+8.8%) 2.50%
3. Chicago 212,300 (+7.1%) 2.79%
4. Washington DC 164,400 (+7.9%) 3.71%
5. San Francisco 147,400 (+6.6%) 4.14%
6. Philadelphia 110,400 (+6.0%) 2.28%
7. Boston 109,800 (+7.3%) 2.90%
8. Houston 96,700 (+9.6%) 2.13%
9. Detroit 92,100 (+3.4%) 2.60%
10. San Jose 88,800 (+2.7%) 6.05%

* Bay Area Total 236,200 *

Surprisingly, the Bay area together grew the least of any metro outside of Detroit with 5.07% growth. This is made even more surprising since the Bay is the tech capital of the country and in the past year or so tech has been booming.

That's why their model failed haha.

American companies used to pay everyone the big bucks. Not always quite up to millionaire status, but really high. It was a totally unsustainable system that they and the Airlines used. It was great when America was booming back in the day like China is now, but once you even out and stop your extreme growth, it's impossible to sustain. Now both industries are crippled.

Heck, the biggest hindrance on those two industries is the pensions that they promised to employees back in the 60s/70s/80s. Without the bloated pension plans, airlines and auto makers could be saved much more easily.
