I'm talking about "regular" New Yorkers of course. I don't know about the fat cats who live there.

Oddly Phish it appears may live in maybe the most rural part of the NYC metro that abuts Bucks County in PA. A very nice area and very wealthy actually. Also on Bucks even though absolutely in the Philly metro there are some NYC influences too.

on NY my take as a former resident and someone who is there regularly for business and pleasure I would think the main cities would be LA, Miami, DC, SF, Chicago and London from my observations in no specific order. Also would say that the sports rivalry and proximity also put Boston and Philly on the radar

In just thinking a bit more i often wonder why Toronto and Montreal are not more top of mind in the NE, seems there may be more of that feeling in the Midwest, especially for Toronto

Are you asking if I live in Bucks County Good guess, but no. I used to, though, about 10 years ago. I will have to slightly disagree that Bucks is in the NYC metro, though. Yes, towns like Yardley, Langhorne and Newtown do have some commuters that go into NYC daily, but to me, the overall feel in Bucks is very Philly metro.

The Dicks Sporting Goods in Langhorne carries ONLY Eagles, Flyers, and Phillies gear. Out of 100 people, maybe 3 weren't Eagles or Philly fans there, when I lived there.

I once asked if they carried Mets gear there and almost got thrown out of the store

You pothead!

Between the NYC and Philly metro, I've pretty much lived every place in those two metros. I now live somewhat outside that area, but not far enough away I've traveled extensively to other places to, including beautiful Seattle. The grass isn't greener here, both literally and figuratively. The area is the center of the rat race universe. If I had the chance to live in Washington State, I'd jump on it.

No I assumed Hunterdon County NJ. And I agree on Bucks but there is also some NYC Influence, even up in the new Hope area a bit. Agree though Bucks is most definately Philly and the sports alignment would prove that out, no doubt. I never said NYC metro though

There are two big ones for Omaha KC #1 by a long ways with Chicago #2. 3rd might be Des Moines, St. Louis, Lincoln(a little small though), or Denver.

I move a lot for my job, which requires me to work in one or two counties for about a year, and then move on to other counties. I've lived in Hunterdon, Bucks, Sussex, Warren, and Morris. Also, Pike and Northampton on the PA side. Sorry, I didn't realize you didn't mean NYC metro.

New Hope definitely has some NYC influence.
