Which state here in the United States would you say seems the most like it's own country? The 3 states that seem the most like their own country to me is California, Texas, and Florida.

California has Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego.
Texas has Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio.
Florida has Miami, Orlando, Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, and the Florida Keys.

So all 3 of those states seem almost like their own country to me. If I could just pick one of them I would probably have to choose Texas. Out of all the states, Texas seems like it's own country more than any other state. I say that as a compliment to Texas. The state of Texas seems to have a special and unique vibe that no other state has.

Obviously this question is totally a matter of opinion. So some of you might choose Alaska or Hawaii. Both of those would be great choices. It's always interesting to get different peoples opinions on questions like this.

Both California and Texas were their own countries at one point before they were annexed into the US so those would be my first choice.

Although South Florida from Palm Beach County to the Key West can feel like it's in it's own country.

The California Republic, also called the Bear Flag Republic, is the name used for a period of revolt against Mexico initially proclaimed by a handful of American settlers in Mexican California on June 14, 1846, in Sonoma. This was shortly before news of the Mexican–American War had reached the area. The participants declared independence from Mexico, but they did not form a functional provisional government. Thus, the "republic" never exercised any real authority, and it was never recognized by any nation.

Texas. They seem more united than Cali residents at a state level and are always boosting their state both on city data and real life.
