It seems like a very strange list. I am surprised to see Phoenix or San Jose over Boston or San Francisco. There are many great cities left out.

It's because they used the central city population, not metro population. Pretty innacurate way of doing it. San Jose, San Antonio, Phoenix and even San Diego are midsize cities at best.

Phoenix has plenty of economic power and this poll is based on best cities to LIVE IN not ones with the most culture. You clearly didn't read the topic.

Phoenix is the 5th largest CITY in the United States and 13th largest metro; it's far from midsize.

Haha, check how the commoners voted. LA and NYC are at the bottom after 107,000+ votes. What gives with all the hate?

Dude, you guys have limited water. You're only allowed to use a certain amount.

Pheonix isn't even on Philly's level. Not for livability, not for anything. Philly is the beginning of America. What the hell is Phoenix? Phoenix's economic power isn't even 1/3 of Philly's.

Phoenix:
-poor air quality
-smog
-traffic
-limited water
-overly-expensive

Philly:
-water
-public transportation
-inexpensive, esecially for its location
-short drive or train ride to NYC and DC

Now, which one sounds more livable?
