Where is the Halloween spirit over the top, flat out awesome? Decorating, events, activities, haunted houses( in people's houses, not some company putting one on at the mall), or anything.

I've heard New England in general is the place for Halloween, which I'd buy, though what towns?

Where else? Pictures?

I would imagine New Orleans.

The city is known for ghosts, ghouls, & vampires.

Those hotels are sold out too, at least the ones in Peabody are. If you really want to go, you can always take the 30 minute train ride up to Salem from Boston.

Halloween is a month long celebration here in Salem. It's a really fun time to be here, I can't think of anywhere in the US that celebrates Halloween as much as Salem. Last year unfortunately the God fearing holy rollers were on soap boxes with bullhorns preaching their paranoia on Halloween evening. I really hope they don't show up this year. Anyway, there are a lot of cool costumes and characters roaming around, ghost tours, haunted homes, and of course the witches (mythical ones), and wiccans (spiritual ones) are all out in force.

Parts of the Southwest also celebrate Dia de los Muertos (Day of the dead), a Mexican tradition that falls only a couple of days after Halloween.

Baltimore easily. Between the zombies(junkies), and those blood sucking vampires in city hall, It has to be Baltimore.

L.A. has the largest Halloween parade, in WeHo. About half a million people show up. Place gets wild.

New Orleans. It's located in some of the scariest terrain you can see aka swamps. They also have a lot of 'haunted' sites you can visit.
