Im curious!

Everyone post 3/4 pics of your childhood neighborhood(s)

Mine are Hyde Park and Roxbury MA neighborhoods of Boston.

Please try and get within a few streets of your home. Not just the coolest shot. I want something representative-this should be fun.

Grew up in Media, PA. A suburb of Philadelphia (30ish minutes outside of the city). My parents are still there. We switched houses twice growing up.

1. State Street: downtown street, you can even see the trolley

2. Leafy street one block over from my family home (and lots of stone on the homes, which is very common outside of Philadelphia)

3. More leafy streets right near a state park that I used to run in.

Wellesley, age 0-3, right here.
Longmeadow, ages 3-7 right here. That big sugar maple in the driveway had a twin. They were big even then, in the 1950s. I remember being high up in one of them once, like a cat who climbed up too high and scared to come down.
Age 8 here in Wayland. Looks like the house was gutted and rebuilt recently.
Ages 9-14 right here, Holyoke Mass. This was a fantastic house. Seems to be in better shape than when we lived there.
Then South Hadley, until done growing up.

How do you do that thing where your link says "Hyde Park" and "Roxbury" and takes you directly there?

Go to post reply.

you see the icon that is the globe with the chain? Above the rpely box? (its in both advanced reply and quick reply)

click that, and copy and paste your link in there.

It will automatically highlight a portion of this long a** link.

Type whatever you want the link to say ('Roxbury') in that highlighted portion and voila.

Not gonna lie... it took me a long time to learn this intuitively ahah

you moved around the same .25 square miles a lot, lol. As a kid I always wanted to grow to live somewhere tropical like that.

I wanted the palm trees not pine trees. Recess involved daily sledding throughout the winter and throwing pine cones at each other...if we weren't using them as playground currency or wiping the sap on our hands.

•Longview Townhomes in Woodbridge Va, about 25 minutes south of DC. Locally and "infamously" (LOL) known as Lynn Court "projects", they've definitely been remodeled since I grew up there...

•The Lakes, 25 minutes south of Richmond; this driveway was gravel and the color scheme was different when we lived there...

https://maps.app.goo.gl/v9wbbmj2otRrnuwVA

•The Murk, Fayetteville NC; I was only here my junior year of high school and pretty much grown up, but I guess it technically counts since i was still a minor lol...

•Oak Hollow Apts, Southaven Ms, right outside of Memphis...

https://maps.app.goo.gl/JyWsbUFCSREnZZiA8

•Expo Park/University, South Central Los Angeles

https://maps.app.goo.gl/YGCSkNZXDM7SbAt38

..........

Did a brief stint in foster care in Va and there were some other areas I lived in Ca, Ark, and Va, but I can't really remember the streets. I have distinct memories of all these places...

couldn't get your links even though they light up blue. Looks like they're broken. You can try this method-type you want like' Lynn Court' as you normally would. Highlight that word. Then hit the hyperlink button i referenced earlier and copy paste the streetview link. Should work automatically

You moved around states a lot army/govt work?

I moved about 10 times within the Boston are but chose the two i stayed at the longest and have the deepest connections to.

Neighborhood kids on my street, Wood Ave
