Of course. I've lived in NJ for all of my 53 years, and I avoid Sleazeside whenever possible.

However, on a hot day about two years ago when the Point exit was backed up, I went to Seaside Heights. On the side of town I was on, a couple of blocks of rundown buildings had been demolished, and there was all new construction. That end of the beach was filled with families. Maybe they are trying to upgrade.

But the point on topic is still that the TV show is a stereotype of the region. It does not accurately portray 99.9% of the Jersey shore.

I've lived in the "Intermountain West" for most of my life. I am not:

1. A Cowboy

2. Wearer of Wrangler jeans

3. Angry at Californians

4. A purchaser of Medicinal Marijuana

5. Socially conservative

However, I do fit the stereotypes of loving the outdoors and cheap beer. Hmmm?
