not going to speak on half these "dangerous" ghettos because i have not been to them and i live by the theroie that every ghetto is the same.
these ghettos are worse then other ghettos or better then other ghettos not because the people are more tougher but because of the state that the city is in with its politicians.
its not a coincidence that the two of the best police forces in the nation the LAPD AND NYPD patrol two cities with some of the best crime decreases seen in the nation
now to answer the OP question hmmmmm the worst crime ridden ghetto ive been to are 2 precincts in my city the 73rd aka brownsville, and 75th aka east new york which are both in brooklyn.
the only ghettos ive been to are the ones in boston, conneticut, philadelphia, baltimore, and new jersey
every ghetto i was in from nyc - jersey - philly felt very similar.
Baltimore look like it was more of a hot zone but thats only because the clubs closed at 2 am so their eas pretty much thugs all out on the streets.
Ive also been to the ghettos in southern florida they look different and the people look different then east coast ghettos but it had the same vibrancy to me.
I don't think those are projects. That looks like it would be equivalent to a tenement building here in NYC. It's just that because the layout of the city is different (everything's more sprawly down in Florida), poorer people tend to live in different housing structures than here in NYC.
Oh my goodness. You people are giving me second thoughts on visiting NYC on my next visit to USA. Good god.
you should be fine in nyc. Most crimes happen in the ghettos.
