Charlottesville, VA, home of U of Virginia, nearly perfect and in a beautiful setting. Only thing missing is a close airport, have to go to Richmond or D.C.

Boulder, CO (duh)
Fort Collins, CO
Gunnison, CO
Durango, CO
Tempe, AZ

I haven't been to very many but I like those.

Would Seattle be considered a "college town"? UW is pretty big, and I like UW. I like Seattle too. Salt Lake City is also a cool place and has U of U.

University of Arizona has a major presence in Tucson, AZ. Much of the filming of Revenge of the Nerds was filmed at that university and frat houses.

I love Boulder and Madison, both great college towns. I love the vibe in each...I've spent a lot more time in Madison, so I know it better. I love that the campus is downtown, that there are lakes on campus, and... did I say I loved the "vibe?" U of WI definitely is the centerpiece of Madison (well, along with the capitol). Madison isn't a small city, but it's not so big, that you ever forget it's a college town.

As for my region (south central),

Stillwater, OK
Norman, OK
Lawrence, KS
Manhattan, KS

are my favorites around here. As a student of OSU, you wouldn't expect Norman to be on my list. But, they have an awesome town setup down there. Not big, not small. Kinda similar to Lawrence I'd guess. And Stillwater/Manhattan are similar to each other as well.
