Most cities don't have the geography available to build all of their sports venues in one spot, it's not as if there's a choice to bulldoze existing structures in order to make it happen.
Exactly! I wouldn't want to have all the sports venues together even if we had the room. The Philly Sports Complex doesn't look nice at all.
Baltimore's stadia are next to each other as are the ones in Pittsburgh. The Seat Pleasant Redskins play in suburban MD, the Washington Nationals play in DC and the Capitals and Wizards play at an arena (Comcast Center) downtown.
The reason the former Washington Redskins are in MD is because the former owner, Jack Kent Cooke, could not reach an agreement with District officials and MD courted him heavily to build what is now FEDEX Field in Prince George's County, MD on former farmland.
I thought so, too, but people from Seat Pleasant have corrected me. Largo claims them, too.
Remember when JK Cooke wanted to rename the area Raljohn?
