First of all, you can't act a race. It's pretty damn insulting to say "act black" when you mean act ghetto. Not only is it insulting to African Americans because you're saying that they're all like that but it's also insulting to the many ethnicities (including white people) who live in the ghetto and have for centuries.

And secondly, there are plenty of urban white ethnicities that don't even remotely need to be wiggers or any of that. Some of them even listen to hip hop simply because it's good music and they can relate to what the music is about.

Channel 11 Chicago did a documentary interviewing people who grew up in the inner city in the 1930s. It is titled 'Remembering Chicago'. One lady that was interviewed said that as a teenager on a hot summer night she would walk down to the nearest park in her pajamas with a pillow and blanket and sleep in the park without one thought that someone might harm her. Now fast forward to today. A teenage girl would be raped and killed if she tried that. Others said the same thing that a person could spend the night in any park in the whole city of Chicago.
A man interviewed said that everyone knew everyone else in the whole neighberhood. And you knew their grandparents, their uncles and cousins. People were much closer back then. Consider now: Everyone is locked up in their own apartment or house with the doors and windows locked and they regulate their lives so that won't have to go out at night because of fear.
But there are those that argue there was a lot of killing siting Al Capone. The mafia were killing each other it is true but they weren't picking on people in parks or anywhere else.
The dividing line when all those good times changed is when we went to war in Europe in WW2.
You can buy that tape by contacting WTTW Channel 11 Chicago. There are actually 4 tapes that come in the package and they are a bit pricey.

Yes, the suburbs destroyed the sense of community.
