Morris, NY and Morrisville, NY are in adjacent counties.

The northernmost beach in NC (Carova) is as far, as the crow flies, from the southernmost beach in NC (Sunset) as it is from Philadelphia, PA.

The westernmost point in Virginia is closer to the state capitols of nine other states (Charleston, Lexington, Columbus, Indianapolis, Nashville, Montgomery, Atlanta, Columbia, Raleigh) than it is to Richmond.

Cape May and Wildwood in New Jersey are farther south than Covington Kentucky.

Cape May and Wildwood in New Jersey are also farther west than the easternmost point of Pennsylvania.

The northernmost border of Texas is only slightly farther south than Virginia Beach.

Virginia Beach is also parallel with the northernmost areas of Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arizona.

This is interesting. It is kind of hard to believe that anywhere on the Jersey shore could be further west then Pennsylvania. But Pennsylvania does have "two points" that stick out pretty far east.

It's because the NJ coast starts sort of hooking to the left as you go south along it. It's slight. Also, Cape May sits nearly horizontal, kind of like Long Island if you look at it on a map, as it's on the end of a peninsula, while most other shore towns are vertical with the ocean to the east and bay to the west. But yes it is definitely an odd fact.

Just South of Trenton in Bucks County is the eastern most point of PA. It is actually further east than is Cape May

Cape May is almost directly South of Philadelphia

Philadelphia is also further East than Ocean City MD and all points South including the easternmost point of MD

Pittsburgh is further East than is the coastline of GA

LOL, I was more impressed with the fact that they were at the same latitude than Covington, KY!
