Oh, definitely. I wasn't saying you're wrong, but you made a very interesting and ironic point.

Hey, I never thought about that. That's weird. I guess because, like you said, it only encompasses Texas and Arkansas, I skip over that thought.

Just a correction to the post about most of the rain falling on PA going into the Gulf...

One more Point Roberts tidbit:

Point Roberts, WA and part of neighboring Tsawwassen, BC were once an island, but the Fraser River delta has connected it to the mainland. Point Roberts rises over 200 feet above sea level while the nearby delta is less than 20 feet above sea level.

Things that suprised me...

-Afghanistan sharing borders with China

-Argentina only 700 miles from Antartica

-Russia only 50 miles from Alaska

-Djibouti only 20 miles from Yemen

-Morocco only 10 miles from Spain

i used to think that Hawaii was only a couple 100 miles from the mainland and that Nepal was a province.

Oklahoma actually has 4 mountain ranges, the Arbuckles in south central OK, the Ouachitas in southeast OK, the Wichitas in the southwest and the foothills of Ozarks in the northeast. While they aren't the Rockies, they are still mountains. Oklahoma actually has 10 distinct ecoregions. There are swamps, forests, rivers, lakes, mountains, and prairies. While the interstates do not pass through many of areas, they are still there.

About Idaho:

There is only one way to get from Boise, Pocatello or any other city located near the Snake River, to the Panhandle portion of the state (Coeur D'Alene region) by staying entirely within the state: US-95. Any other roads require the motorist to leave Idaho before entering it again, either through Oregon, Washington or Montana.

A handful of counties in the U.S. are in multiple time zones: Cherry County Nebraska (central and mountain), Gulf County Florida (eastern and central), Idaho County Idaho (mountain and pacific), and Malheur County Oregon(mountain and pacific).

I was vacationing in Southern Spain once (after working in Seville) with a friend and we were looking around Gibraltar when we noticed there was a ferry that would take you to Morocco. So we took it... I couldn't skip Africa when I was that close! A fun little trip!
