DFW is the only metro in the Texas Triangle that is as close or closer to a bordering state's capital (Oklahoma) as it is to the capital of TX.

By driving distance, El Paso is closer to the capitals of New Mexico, Chihuahua and Sonora than it is to Austin.

North Carolina has a different approach to zoo locations than most other states. Instead of having each of the state's cities run their own zoos, they run a state zoo that is near the geographic center of the state (while most of this oddity is less geographical, the last part makes it double as a geographical oddity).

The Downstream Casino Resort is in Oklahoma but half of its parking lot is in Kansas and its entrance road starts in Missouri.

I have stopped there several times. Those of us that have big rig motor coaches are welcome, no fees.

Oxford (MS), Tupelo (MS), and Huntsville (AL) are farther north than Myrtle Beach (SC), and Wilmington (NC).
