I'm sure most groups tend to stick together when they comprise only 8% of the population.

Interracial couples are super-common here, you see basically every mix you possibly can, and for the most part, people won't care - they're too caught up in their own lives to care about what someone they don't know and have nothing to do with is doing with theirs!

People here in CA do tend to socialize much, much more with people of other races and cultures than you see in many other areas on the US, at least that's been my experience. My social circle is composed of people from basically every race, many different ethnic groups and religions, and everyone's chill about it. Don't hear too many racist jokes behind anyone's back because they're just not racist.

At the very least, you should try out one of these cities briefly just to see.
ya, that is the goal and objective for now

I don't mean to sound ignorant but i think most races/ethnicities tend to stick together because they more things in common to talk about. You said that 93% of your high school population was black. put yourself in the position of being a white kid..how would you feel, let's say if you and these other 2 kids were the only white kids in the school? I'm not saying it to sound racist but i think people do tend to feel "better" when they are with their own race. There are things white people like that black people dont like.

But not all the white people are representations of all the white people in America. I'm Asian and I hang out with white people and people of different other ethnicities as well.

georgia is the least integrated state, it's overwhelming majority black. georgia is probably about 90% black overall. other states are a little more diverse.

lol, morel like 50 percent black and 45 percent white, ya, in high school I hardly saw a White person

I mean it was literally like all the White people hid somewhere and like everyone else was Black. had a good experience with black people down here so I am not complaining too much.

I'm a white guy and my boyfriend is a black Haitian guy. You can't get any more diverse than that.

I lived in a town that was around 98% white and back when I was in high school, they would ship in black kids from Hartford to our farmy town. None of the blacks hung with the whites, and vice versa, and there were a lot of race problems in that school. And this is the Northeast.

No, the South is not representative of white people all across America. For starters, white people in the South are majorly English, French, etc and in places like the Northeast they are majorly Italian, Irish, Polish, etc.

Secondly, anybody who tells you that your experience will be the same elsewhere has never lived in an actually accepting area. I grew up in one. People here don't really give a crap and the population is very mixed.. and not just "a bunch of mainly well-off white people and then minorities" like it is in say...parts of the West Coast. We've got people of all walks of life and all races and colors and creeds.
