No, it doesn't get hot enough in the short summer, and summer nights outdoors are often terrible with mosquitoes.

Agree on Michigan, also maybe somewhere along the Appalachian foothills in KY, VA, W VA, NC, etc.

Thank you.
When people think of Washington, they usually only think of the western half of the state. The western half, where Seattle is, has a reputation for grey skies, drizzle and rain, and mild seasons. Eastern Washington, on the other hand, is a lot drier. Much of it is actually desert. Cold and snowy winters. (Highs often from 25 to 40 F, lows in the 20s or teens with extremes to the single digits and sometimes below zero). Hot and dry summers. (80s and 90s F are the norm across much of eastern WA in the summer, along with clear blue skies and dry air. 100s F are also not unheard of, especially in the southern parts of the state. Summer lows often range from 55 to 65 F in eastern WA). And a wide variety of terrain to chose from. Eastern Washington really is a largely forgotten about treasure.

There are al

If you want bigger extremes, there's always interior Alaska. Fairbanks, for example, is frequently below 0 F throughout the winter, and warms into the 70s and 80s in the summer.

Wrong info. I sweat my rear end off when vacationing up north Michigan in the summer.

Its not surprising to reach over 90 degrees here in Minnesota. But we still enjoy it so we go out on the Lake or many people go to Wisconsin Dells (Waterpark Capital of the World!)

So i'll second Minnesota Wisconsin Michigan

Plus ill even throw in South Dakota, You got the Mountains in the West and alot of Lakes to the East. Plus great cities like Rapid City and Sioux Falls

The southwest quadrant of Michigan would be a good choice. Hot summers, and cold, snowy winters (but not too cold because of the lake).

Are you kidding? Minnesota and Wisconsin get over 100. I went on a summer camping trip up there once and was MISERABLE. So hot and humid, so many mosquitos. I swear it was worse than I EVER experienced in Florida that weekend b/c the air was so stagnant, our tent was dripping condensation. Chicago last summer one day had a heat index over 120! I remember it being over 130 out in Iowa. Yes, 130!!! The midwest can get some nasty heat/dewpoint combinations sometimes.

One of the worst blizzards ever was just 4-5 months before that.

There you go...

Needless to say, Midwest gets EXTREME weather on both the cold and hot ends.

Chicago. Or if you're looking for a mid-sized city- Milwaukee. Country living... anywhere in northern IL, anywhere in Wisconsin (although northern WI gets more snow than southern), or Michigan.

I'd say anywhere in the central to lower Midwest would be a pretty good fit for you. Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kansas, and Missouri are probably the most consistent in terms of reaching both extremes.
