The official criteria for HBCU's are institutions that were founded prior to 1964 for the sole purpose of educating African Americans. Officially, there are 105 HBCU's.

LOL, Prairie View A&M was originally called "Alta Vista Agriculture & Mechanical College for Colored Youth" LMAO.

TSU was even worse- "Texas State University for Negroes" or the "Houston Colored Junior College"

FAMU ... in Tallahassee FL ... same place as FSU

Actually a nice town, it is full of pines, it is hilly (unlike most of Florida) and you can day-hop it to the Gulf/Panhandle beaches.
