It's interesting how everyone has a different idea of heaven. Would anyone care to explain why you feel that your choice for "heaven" is heaven on earth to you?

-breathtaking majestic scenery
-must make me feel small and insignificant compared to the grandiose nature of my surroundings
-clean air; not ruined by man (yet)
-quiet
-low stress
Y'all who talk about cities being heaven- are you really serious?
Yes.
You think of being in isolated booines as being heaven??

Is it even possible to relax amid the hustle and bustle of a big city?
Yes.
I live in a pretty nice place, surrounded by palm trees, that's about five miles from gorgeous beaches, and one mile from largely unmolested hills that overlook the LA basin. I walk out my front door, make a right, make another right, walk three blocks, and am on one of the most famous streets in the US, where I can see absolutely gorgeous women from all over the world walking around wearing summer clothes in January.
I can find nearly every cuisine in the world withing a radius if a couple miles. I can find nearly every type of shopping one cares to imagin in about the same. I can do everything from going to a poetry reading and eating Asian fusion that crushes what you can find in most major American or international cities, to hiking in solitude through a high desert mountain in about the same distance, time, and effort.
So yes: it is absolutely possible. It's quite easy and effortless, IMHO.
I prefer smaller cities but love having easy access to cultural activities such as Museums, Art Galleries, Opera, Concerts, Theatre but I also need access to scenic beauty and wildlife etc..
For me places in the US I would be quite happy to move to :
Boston area ( Cape Ann to the North or Mid Cape) and a large proportion of New England
San Francisco area / Marin County in particular or Rockridge/Berkeley
Portland OR
Pacific Grove/Monterey
