Why does DC, Baltimore, and Atlanta hire more African Americans as anchors? I mean, really, there is a certain direction here, based on the demographics of the market. Is this right? Probably not. Is this a good business decision? Probably yes.
Baltimore anchors aren't just black.

True, but that isn't what I said. I said they tend to hire more African American anchors. Purely as a business decision.

Why do you think it's a business decision? The Baltimore area is majority white.

Yes, i believe the most respected Asian anchor is Kaity Tong. She has been around for a very long time.

in recent years, i've seen a few like Christina Park and more recently, Frances Rivera.

How many Asian anchors are men?

Consider that to read the news off the teleprompter, all you have to be is attractive. They should be done with it and just hire models and botox them up so they can't smile inappropriately. It used to be that anchors at least had to look knowledgeable so people would deem them trustworthy but now, the media has taken such a respect nosedive, they may as well just get someone off the runway at Fashion Week to read the teleprompter. They can always bring in a few reporters for a national emergency when they might have to ad lib.

At least on the Weather Channel you actually have to know something about the weather.

This is not general journalist finger pointing, just plain old fashioned anchor bashing.

There is a correlation to the population

More black where there are more blacks
More latino where there are more latinos
More asian where there are more asians

A generalization but mostly true

Yes.

I couldn't bring myself to be so clear, but you are. This is absolutely true. Perhaps not right, but it is the reality. Check any top 20 market and you will see this.
