Does your city/metro area feel like a transplant INVASION? (low income, transplants)

I've lived in Washington D.C. area since the early 1970s. I remember back then this area was so much smaller and you felt more connected to the neighborhood in which you grew up. But since about 1990, it feels like transplants from practically everywhere (and not just in the U.S.) have devoured this area. It's become like a transplant-owned metropolis, practically speaking.

So, I was wondering, are you also in a city or metro area that feels this way? If so, please share your experience.

Outside of the university and low income city areas, metro Syracuse doesn't really have a transplant situation going on.

I see the same faces, day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year.

I've met one or two people who are actually from Charlotte....The rest aren't from here at ALL

The Bay area is more like china or india these days. Fewer American here every year as they are all moving away.
