Least favorite? Mmm, not really sure. I've been to a lot of bland states, and I've been to states where I had a miserable time, but I don't really thing I can pin down a "least favorite."
Favorites (visit): Colorado(loveloveLOVE everything about it), New Mexico (mountains), Arizona desert (beautiful photography), Montana, Cali, Wyoming, Tennisee, Missori, and the Hill County of Texas.
Least Favorites: The great plains. The land makes me depressed. Same for Texas panhandle--I hate driving through it on the way to the mountains...
Odd that you didn't ask the same question of the very next poster who listed California as their favorite state and pegged North Dakota as least favorite.
Like it's sooooooooooo ridiculously unheard of for someone to prefer North Dakota over California that it demands an explanation.

Protest if you must, but that doesn't change reality. California has attracted 30 million people in spite of various natural limitations and an unpredictable economy since day one. North Dakota...
Anyway, my favorite state that I've been to might be New York. I've been upstate and downstate (to that certain city you may have heard about), and I'm not sure there's any part I don't like. Then again, every state in New England is pretty amazing too.
Least favorite that I've been to would be Texas, but that's probably because my family drove across the whole thing from west to east, just to visit someone in a little podunk town. I recognize that makes me biased, but then nothing I've heard or seen since has really helped my perception of Texas.
Nevada would be another candidate for worst. There's almost nothing that appeals to me there.
