honestly, never. i'm not in an area known as a 'natural disaster' hotspot. blizzards are the most likely, and i like 'em.
Me too. Seeing my area crippled for a week this past Valentine's Day when a foot-and-a-half of snow, freezing rain, and sleet fell on us was awesome! I had three snow days, and they didn't plow our roads even once for three days either! WOOOOO!!!
Absolutely not at all. There are no large scale natural disasters here in Arizona-- other than drought-- which is more of a pervasive condition than a disaster event.
Here you have three types of natural disasters: tornadoes, blizzards and floods. This is discounting severe thunder and ice storms which can cripple power too. Some times they're very local (e.g. the common floods along the river that happen every year or so), and on very rare occasion not (i.e. the Blizzard of '78 and Flood of '07).
As my father always says, "ya pays your money, and takes your chances."

True, blizzards, though rarer than in the Upper Midwest, are always a threat to St. Louis. The last blizzard we had was in 2002 I believe. I remember that one well. I also have heard stories from my father about the winter of 1978. That winter, St. Louis supposedly got 60 inches of snow, a winter comparable to that of Cleveland! And floods are definitely an enormous threat to St. Louis. The flood of 1993 in which the Missouri, Illinois, and Mississippi all flooded spelled a big disaster for a lot of areas around St. Louis. Luckily, Downtown St. Louis is situated on an enormous plateau above the river so we managed to avoid getting flooded downtown. However, were it to be a worse flood, Downtown St. Louis could get flooded. So yes, blizzards and floods are a threat to St. Louis as well as tornadoes and New Madrid.
Life is too short to worry about stupid stuff like natural disasters.
Actually, life is too short to worry about anything, but I still do though.
What constitutes "not stupid" that warrants a bit of worry?
