Rocky does represent Philly, which I find a bit sad. I'd rather promote Smokin' Joe Frazier. Of the three recent ones, I only knew Fey was from Philly, so I'm not sure they represent the city.

Ten most recognizable faces of all time for St. Louis:

Chuck Berry
Vincent Price
John Goodman
Redd Foxx
Buddy Ebsen
Marlin Perkins
Nelly
Tina Turner
Robert Duvall
Phyllis Diller

P.S.: sports fans would surely recognize Jimmy Conners, Lou Brock, Stan Musial, Jackie Joyner, Jack Buck, Ozzie Smith, and Yogi Berra.

I'll list off St. Louis as it's my adopted home town and I'll be moving back there in a few months

Chuck Berry
Betty Grable
Josephine Baker
Ike Turner
Tina Turner
Nelly
Virginia Mayo
Tennessee Williams
T.S. Eliot
Ulysses S. Grant

The list goes on and on, but those are the major ones I can think of off the top of my head

EDIT: Ooops! Just realized the above person did St. Louis as well! Oh well, our lists are slightly different!

The OP made a nice thread asking who represents their city, there was no need for your post. You correcting a "mistake" like this is not necessary, especially since you didn't contribute to the thread at all. I am sure that we could easily find errors in your posts.

That's actually not a grammatical mistake unless you believe the rules of grammar should have no relationship to how it's used. "Someone that" has been used just as long, if not longer than "someone who."

For NYC, these are folks (in no particular order) who I think the typcial man on the street somewhere outside of the city would automatically think r"New York" when their names are mentioned

Derek Jeter (maybe some other dead or retired athletes too, like Babe Ruth, Joe Namath, or Mickey Mantle)
Rudy Guiliani (after 9/11 he WAS New York)
Jay Z (or other famous rapper.producer maybe Sean, Russel Simmons, Fitty Cent)
Spike Lee
Woody Allen
Martin Scorcese
Rev. Al Sharpton (controversial, but with a TV show on MSNBC eveybody knows him)
J-Lo (the Bronx represents)
Barbara Streisand (Brooklyn represents--and with staying power too)
Rupert Murdoch
(gotta have a media/biz face for NY, but frankly most folks outside here wouldn't recognize the name of any of the most powerful biz people here)
