Definitely NYC here in Scranton. We have the AAA minor-league affiliate of the NY Yankees, Cold Stone Creamery, Starbucks (which to be fair is more of a Seattle thing), The Original SoupMan, and our local realtors tout a "brief 2-hour commute to Manhattan" as a major selling point to our newcomers. We hear a lot of Brooklyn accents around here, and drivers are quite aggressive on I-81. People around here wet their pants when they found out Macy's was coming.

In Cleveland its definetly more influenced by NYC.The slang there definetly is,and I picked up the way I dress from NYC.Some real baggy pants, with some Tims(Timberlands),big shirts, big coats in the winter,or a big hoody/jacket.

Well, I live in NYC, so I think that'd be pretty self-explanatory.

Neither...it's quite evident that the city is influenced by itself.

Neither. I think the only influence either city has is so grossly terrible and stereotyped that I wouldn't want myself associated with it.

NYC definitely. St. Louis is much more Eastern and rustbelt-like in character like New York. No similarities to LA whatsoever here.

I'd have to say neither. I live in Charleston, SC so we're not really directly influenced by either. But I'd say trends work their down the coast from NYC than from LA. If you account for Hollywood's influence I'd have to say LA then.
In reality, I think we're more influenced by Atlanta than either one.
