Can you draw a free-hand map if the USA on plain paper? (houses, middle school)

How many of you could draw a map if the USA freehand, and get all the states in the right places and the right size?

Just wondering how many people can do this. I've been able to do it since fifth grade, I haven't tried it in decades, but I could probably still do it. I'd have to do it state by state, I wouldn't be able to draw the correct outline of the country and fill in the state lines.

I used to be able to freehand a map of the world with all the countries. But since the breakup of the Soviet Union, I'd need a refresher course. And those tiny countries in the interior of Africa might give me fits, too.

I can get most of them in the right spot. West Coast states are easy since there are three of them (excluding Hawaii and Alaska) and I was born and raised in the Northeast so I can pretty much do the whole East Coast but the Midwest sort of throws me off. They're all big squares to me.

It's unfortunate that so many Americans are geographically illiterate, though...

I think it's more unfortunate that many Americans are politically and economically illiterate.

I can barely freehand draw a stick figure. In middle school I had to make maps of the world and of Washington State. I was one of the kids who had to trace the outlines because every freehand attempt got rejected. Was never good at drawing.

I drew maps all the time as a kid. In my second grade class the back wall was covered with kids' drawings of animals, boxy houses, flowers, and my map of the Chesapeake Bay and its major tributaries.
