Personally, I have driven to Toronto, Montreal AND Quebec City. Getting in to Canada is pretty easy. Getting out is a whole other story. Unless you fly.
Every city mentioned above is worth visiting. I haven't been to the rest of Canada (except for Winnipeg..flew there for work), but I would think that most of Canada except for the Central plains is worth seeing. Especially Vancouver, Halifax, Saint John's and Charlottetown.
I've been to Canada a bunch of times, and I love it. Great unspoiled countryside, some nice cities and one (in my opinion) truly great one - Montreal. Being in the Upper Midwest, it's not that far away, eh? You used to be able to just whiz on through the checkpoints (and tell 'em you didn't have any fruit as you sped by), but it's definitely way more of a hassle at this point.
I have only been the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. I have wanted to visit Toronto, Montreal and Winnipeg (as I have friend there), but it hasn't worked out for me to do for various reasons.

I've never had trouble leaving Canada, only entering. Then again I am white lol.
Montreal is medium sized? I think it is the 19th biggest metro in North America, with 1.6 million in the former Montreal city limits. I believe that there are around 4 million people in Greater Montreal. Greater Montreal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The city of Montreal itself is the 9th largest in N.A and fits its 1.6 million in an impressive 140 sq miles making it one of the most dense as well.
Honestly Canada really doesn't appeal to me whatsoever. Some of my friends vacation there and two people I know go to college there because of the lower drinking age. But me personally I don't see a reason to travel there. I'd rather go to NYC, Boston, Providence, or somewhere warm in FL.
I've been to Niagara Falls, Ont. and Windsor Ont. I enjoyed both places and would really like to go back and see more of Canada. But at this time it's not in the budget. Banff in Alberta and Lake Louise seem very popular with many people I know as well as Vancouver. Not so much eastern Canada but I would like to see that area as well.
I just learned about this rule yesterday. A friend was trying to go to a birthday party in Toronto but she has a DUI.
