There are Christians in all parts of this country. I believe geography has NOTHING to do with religion. Otherwise, I have this to share with you: I'm not from the South but I hope "Y'all" gets preserved. I was always pleased with that word.

It is certainly spreading around the world...I heard it many times in London and have heard people use it in almost every city I've visited. It is very convenient, and is kind of becoming more mainstream than strictly southern.

It's incredibly irritating. I had a discussion with a native southern woman today at work who said she wishes she had my accent instead of her's. I said if I were her, I'd probably say the same thing.

Yes, me and a ton of other people believe it's irritating. I read your post; I'm not blind. Just because something is spreading doesn't mean it's not irritating. Examples of things that spread but are still annoying include the Jersey Shore popularity and herpes.
