Oddly enough, I added the bold this week.

Had a great time.

I've been to a majority of the major cities in the United States, more often than not, multiple times. I can now count on one hand the number of 1 million + people PCSAs that I haven't seen in the United States.

My code is that I visit any city the first time without any prejudice towards it at all. The slate is blank and all preconceived notions are thrown out the window in order to give that place a fair chance.

If it is a place that really appeals to me and leaves a massive impression on me for the better, then it is a place that I can envision myself going back to and visiting once again.

If it is a place that I enjoyed myself but didn't find anything about it that really resonated with me on a very personal level or that it didn't peak my interest level then I will avoid revisiting that city again in my life. I'm not saying this to be harsh but the reality is that I want to see as many cities in the world as I can and I'll never get around to even making a dent into my goal if I keep visiting a place I have zero interest in again and again and again. I've enjoyed every city I have ever been to and seen the appeal of the place from another person's perspective, well every place except for one. However, even if I enjoyed my stay there I'm not really into the idea of returning to see the place again because that sort of thing will keep me from seeing cities around the world that I haven't even seen once (places that I really have an interest in and want to see).

It has to be a place that really resonated with me at a personal level for me to say that I have no issues going back and seeing it again. I'll visit any city in the world at least once and I'll do it without prejudice but to go back and return to that city again is going to need to start pulling on my heart strings, otherwise it is a no-go. Time and money are finite resources, not infinite, and I don't want to be wasting mine on places that are enjoyable but just okay, not when there's a planet littered with hundreds of other cities that I've never been to for me to see and experience.

Long Beach
Added Portland and San Jose since I posted this. Portland was cool and I wouldn't mind living there, SJ itself was meh but I could live closer to SF or Oakland and spend a lot of my time in those cities.

Detroit and Chicago inner city my strongest desire to walk their streets alone late at night but then I wake up -towel off the sweat -and go to the kitchen to get some water -and be grateful it was only a dream

If only people had your attitude instead of being so quick to dismiss places just because they're not deemed hip and cool by the elite or crapped on by everybody and their mama; the world would be a better place.
