Tornado Capital?

I've lived in the DFW area for 20 years and have never seen or been remotely close to a tornado. I can't even remember the last time a major tornado has hit the Metroplex. There's 1 or 2 small ones a year that take shingles off houses and break some tree limbs, but nothing like what hit OKC back in '99.

Chicago, Illinois : Sometimes considered within Tornado Alley. There have been tornadoes inside the city limits and in the suburbs. Last devastating tornado, in 1990, was in the suburb of Plainfield killed about 30 people and injured 350.

San Francisco, California : Never heard of a tornado in San Francisco.

I personally would be more afraid of an earthquake. At least you can run for cover when a tornado comes at you.
