Could San Diego or San Francisco Bay Area replace Tampa Bay Area as my favorite region in the U.S.? (home, job market)

Tampa Bay is my favorite region in the Eastern U.S. and for the different photos I have seen I seriously doubt anywhere in the nation can replace that rank I have for this area... Except maybe San Diego or San Francisco. Which area is better for you, San Diego or San Francisco?

What do you like about Tampa Bay? What is important to you to make daily life enjoyable in a new location? What is your housing budget and what kind of housing do you need? Are schools important? Is having a beach in walkable distance or restaurant/bars in walkable distance important? Urban preference or are you more of a suburbanite?
Basically I am more like into visit. Right now I am a graduate student and do not have still a job to think about a home but at this time, it would be my "desire" to stay here in Tampa although the job market here is still poor. But if I was to move somewhere else I am more into suburbs, I don't have children nor plan to have so schools aint a problem, having a beach nearby would be nice, here I like Clearwater but still prefer the Pasco and Hernando suburbs.
As per why I can't go figure out myself, I would love but my economy does not let me at this time.
San Francisco is cold. Not cold like snowy or cold to people from Northern places but still cold. You'll see people wearing hoodies at night in Summer. San Diego is warmer, but as far as culture, the San Francisco Bay Area is way more interesting.
Based on your few posts I don't think you'd like SF, much much different vibe than San Diego, and culture shock coming from Tampa Bay.
