Advertisements

On TV, I see lots of ads for California, Virginia (specifically, Williamsburg, VA), the Florida theme parks, a few from Michigan (there seem to be a lot fewer ads recently, though), Mohegan Sun.

I think I see more tourism ads on train station platforms than on TV, though. The ones i see most there are for Vermont, Philadelphia, Bucks County PA, Atlantic City.

Mostly the god damned "Pure Michigan" ads targeting businesses here in Texas. Which makes me crack up wondering what kind of company wants to move to a higher tax, more regulation, and colder state?

They're not aimed at companies, rather tourists. BTW, are you insinuating Texas is some kind of paradise?

I'm from Massachusetts and the past few years I remember seeing a LOT of the California ads with Governor Shwarzenegger. The ones were they have the skier and then the surfer, etc. We also had a lot of North Carolina ads, especially featuring the outer banks.

In Chicago you see from a few places. In order what you see the most:

1. Michigan
2. Wisconsin
3. California
4. South Dakota
5. Missouri

On the EL Montana overwhelmingly puts ads on the train year round.
