Conde Nast 2007: World's Favorite Cities for International Tourism
Sydney has been ranked the world's top city in an international tourist poll by a top US travel magazine.
The Australian tourist mecca scored the highest points when rated by readers of US-based Conde Nast Traveler in the magazine's annual readers choice awards. The awards, which began in 1988, are awarded after questionnaires are sent to the magazine's 387,000 subscribers, who rank top cities, islands, resorts and airlines.
Sydney scored the highest mark this year, on 87.7, beating Florence (86.8), San Francisco (85.9) and Bangkok (85.8), with readers commenting on the city's "ambience and friendliness".
Also scoring mentions in the regional lists were US city Santa Fe (84.1), and Venice and New York (both 82.9).

But for "International" travelers>?? They are both very nice, but I dont think I would travel from another country to visit-would you?
Well, Id imagine it would be. Santa Fe is the oldest city in the USA and steeped in Spanish and Native American history. Not to mention its beautiful (next to the Sangre de Cristo mountains) naturally and architecturally. If I were a foreign traveler, Santa Fe would be right up there with NYC, etc.
This is a very strange list to me. I too am surprised to see Santa Fe, a nice city no doubt, as ranked #6 in the world, above such places as Paris, Venice and Rio de Janeiro. The placement of a lot of the international cities surprises me too. Florence at #2? Berlin not even on the list? I suppose it's all subjective, but Conde Nast is an American-based magazine so I'm curious as to whether or not their polling was heavily skewed towards American travelers (hence the high rankings of Santa Fe and others)?
YUCK! I have to disagree that Sedona should even be on this list!!
I'd agree with Detroit being on the list before i would Sedona!!
Sedona's setting is beautiful!! The town sucks royally though. Talk about a monster tourist trap.
