You might start by looking for an American company or any company that has operations in the UK and look for an opportunity to get transferred to the U.S.

Im in the same situation where im in the Uk wanting to move to work in the US, its not easy at all, first of all you would need a sponsor or you will have no chance, you will need experience at least 1yr probably 2yrs, its best to work with a US company that has branches in the UK.

Its not easy at all, I have a sponsor but having problems with visa as there is only so many and they quickly get exusted, so its best to work for a company in the UK and wait for any offers to work in the US to pop up.
