This post is so incredibly off-the-mark. I highly doubt you've ever spent any time at all in Rhode Island, eastern Connecticut, northern New Hampshire, or most of Maine.

#14. The turds from the Northeast tend to stay in the Northeast.

Even statistics on the U.S. Census Bureaus' website show that out of all four regions in the U.S., residents of the northeast are the least likely to move. They tend to be more territorial than people in the other regions. I'm not sure why that is.

...even though millions of them have left the region in the past 4-5 decades. Maybe you're saying they are less likely to move within the region? The migration out of Northeastern cities to other regions is well-documented.

In reference to all the above quotes I will say this as a native and 40 year resident of the northeast. The people near NYC and Boston are bad. The further you get from NYC and Boston the better the people become. Please don't demonize the people from Maine, New Hampshire, upstate New York and western New York for the terrible behavior and voting records of the people near NYC and Boston.

Nope. Look right here, about half way down the page, directly from the U.S. Census Bureau web site:

About 36 Million Americans Moved in the Last Year, Census Bureau Reports - Mobility of the Population - Newsroom - U.S. Census Bureau

"The Northeast had the lowest mover rate among regions (7.8 percent), followed by the Midwest (11.0 percent), South (12.8 percent) and West (13.4 percent)."

Neither of us specified "in the last year"...you just said that residents of the Northeast are the least likely to move. Historically that is certainly not true, and definitely not true of the past few decades.

The pattern doesn't fluctuate that much though. If you look at each year one by one, prior to 2013, you will see that not much has changed over the past 20 years in terms of migration patterns.

LOL! Then where did all of these New Yorkers in Atlanta come from? There has been a steady stream of transplants from the Northeast to the South - at least they say that's where they're from.
