I am looking to make a list of suburbs that have a good downtown (That is the downtown of that suburb. Not the downtown of the core city). Let us know what kinds of things are available to do there.

Also, which region of the country are you likely to find these types of downtowns.

Thanks.

Carmel, Indiana has one of those nice Suburban downtowns.
It has the 2nd highest concentration of office space in Indiana after Downtown Indianapolis.
Hey even CNN Money magazine ranked Carmel, Indiana as the #1 place to live in America.

Many Northeastern villages or cities outside of the major center city may have nice Downtowns. In my area, villages like Liverpool, Skaneateles, Manlius and perhaps Fayetteville come to mind. They are more quaint and offer walkability.

Welcome to the Village of Skaneateles!

Franklin, TN. Most of the city is typical suburbia (but pretty nice)...the historic downtown is well preserved and filled with many local and independent businesses (restaurants and boutiques).
