Time to stop letting the weather dictate your mood and your liffe.

I've learned to deal with and actually enjoy winter. I don't know why everyone hates it so much. There is still plenty to do indoors and outdoors in the winter. You just need to prepare a little.

Rant continued: People are such babies about the weather! You can adapt to pretty much every type of weather there is and America has some of the best weather on the planet! People always complain about Minneapolis being cold, try living in Yakutsk. People think Phoenix is too hot, try Bangkok or Kuwait City. People will adapt to the weather wherever they live. If you choose not to adapt to it and to make yourself miserable, that is your problem. End rant

BTW, when I say "you" or "your" I'm not addressing the OP specifically, but all the people that complain way too much about something they can't change.

It is bizarre to me that some people allow weather to be the thing they structure their lives around. It seems shallow.

I find a little cold weather refreshing, even energizing. Don't know why it makes some people feel depressed.

If it was sunny and warm all the time, that would get boring for me pretty quickly.

Seriously, it takes maximum thirty extra seconds to get ready and the driving is trickier. That's about it. Yes, it's cold, but we deal with it just like we deal with heat in the summer, and it's fine and we all go on with our lives.

A Minneapolis winter would be horrific in San Francisco and there would be mass panic, but Minneapolis isn't located in San Francisco, it's located in Minneapolis, and Minneapolis knows how to handle it. Winter is just something that happens around you for a while. When it's winter, that's the only way it is, and you get over it and you live with it, and if you just stop worrying about it, it doesn't make a ton of difference what season it is.

Really if you dont like the cold move south thats sure to help. Then when it gets cold down south move a little further south again.
Jeez, relax! I started this thread in the Tampa forum - WHERE I WILL BE MOVING TO for your information. In case you didn't read a previous post in this thread, it was FOR FUN as those of us from the northeast and midwest - who are planning a move to the south - are constantly comparing notes to those who are already living there, all in good fun. But it was moved by a moderator.

I'm just wondering why you felt it so necessary to attack. It's too bad some people can't take a joke. Sheesh

What is so shallow about knowing what you will be happier with? Some people love to ski or anything that involves the snow and I say good for them. Really. Everyone has their likes and dislikes and I certainly don't knock the ones who like the opposite of me! It's what makes us human and interesting. But, for you to insinuate I'm shallow when you don't even know me? I happen to like the warm weather and the types of activities that you get to do when it's warm. And fwiw (and probably nothing) I am the furthest from being shallow.

At least I know what I want and am going after it. If you think that's shallow, so be it.

All I know is, I created this thread just for fun with my soon-to-be Tampa neighbors and now I get bombarded with all these negative attacks. All I can say is wow.

It's not you, please don't take it personally. You just had the terrible, terrible misfortune of having your thread transferred to the general US forum. Also known as the Shark Tank. You're not in Tampa anymore. :O

yea, I find it kinda sad and pathetic that people let weather rule their lives. All you have to do is make minor adjustments to enjoy all 4 seasons.
