"Planes, Trains and Automobiles" and "The Blues Brothers" had filming locations near where I grew up.
I can't think of any other movie filmed in the Louisville area than "Elizabethtown." That was possibly the worst movie I've ever seen. No wait..."Secretariat" was filmed partly at Churchill Downs, that makes me feel better.
Ironwweed (one part of it was filmed there) & Nobody's Fool (part of it, too) . I remember Ironweed made such a stir, I was still there at the time, they blocked off parts of the city to film. The Diner in Nobody's Fool we ate at as teenagers all the time in the 70's. It's still there.
