Agree on the diversity thing. Texas' diversity in landscapes alone blows Florida out of the swamp.

Comon now, lets not let our biases effect our opinion.. Texas is not exactly known for its beauty, you and I both know it. How about you post some pictures? If you do they will be mistaken for states such as Oklahoma and Kansas. There is a reason why Texas does absolutely pitiful at attracting tourists, and that is one of the main reasons why. Do you have a better reason why? Florida is known around the world as being one of only a couple high population lush tropical areas in the entire first world.

Texas might have a more varied landscape, but in my opinion it's one of the ugliest areas in the U.S. People criticize Houston and Dallas for being two of the ugliest major city landscapes in the U.S. on this forum all the time. Would you like me to link you some forum threads showing what people on this forum think of Texas's beauty? Tell me some things that are unique to Texas, I would love to hear them.

Florida blows Texas away in tourist numbers, and one of the major reasons why is the beautiful beaches and lush tropical environment. I'll post some pictures if you want, and people will guess they were taken in Florida right away. There's not many places in the U.S. that can say that. Once again if you would like to prove that Texas is anywhere as close to as beautiful as Florida just post pictures and let other people decide. The world has already voted by actually wanting to go to Florida a lot more than Texas. Do you understand how many more tourists Florida gets than Texas? It's more than 6 times as many and its almost the same number as California. Texas gets less tourists than Massachusetts.

Who cares if you or anyone else find the state ugly or not? The point was is that it's not as diverse as Texas topographically. Also, I didn't realize Oklahoma or Kansas had similar areas to South Padre Island, Big Bend, or Palo Duro Canyon. Who knew? Ridiculous that you label the entire state that borders Oklahoma and not to far from Kansas as similarities.

I think the real division is within the sates, rather than which state itself is best. Miami and Atlanta are much different (and better, IMHO) than anything else in their states.

Dooc4, facts do state for themselves. Texas is more diverse than Florida, weather you like it or not. To put Oklahoma and Kansas against Texas is just laughable. Do you realize that Texas covers a very large area that consist of a variety of different landscapes.

Who cares if you or anyone else thinks Texas has more diverse landscapes than Florida. See how dumb that sounds. What's the point of having diverse landscapes if they are rooted in mediocrity. It's like the old saying quality over quantity. I urge anyone that has not been to both states to Google "Florida scenery" and "Texas scenery" and compare the two. Then Google "Oklahoma scenery" and compare it to the Texas search. You can't even tell the difference even when comparing hundreds of photos.

Texas might be diverse but there are many other states in the U.S. with the same exact landscapes. Nothing comes close to Florida on the U.S. mainland. The name Florida even means land of flowers.

Once again can you tell me the reason why the Miami metro area alone gets more tourists than the entire state of Texas? If it's not because of the natural beauty it must be because it's urban environment is that much better than Texas's? Would love to hear your reasoning.. Why don't people go to Texas for vacation? It's because vacation areas are usually beautiful places. Isn't that widely known?

You were asking about how many tourists Miami gets, so I responded with recent articles I found about Miami.
