The Panhandle is not called northern Texas....its just the Panhandle.The areas around Dallas/Fort Worth/Arlington Metroplex and Wichita Falls are North Texas.

Yes, to most Texans, the Panhandle and North Texas are not one in the same.

That's why I hate when people refer to the Metroplex or DFW as "North Texas" like what was done in the Super Bowl. Outside of this area, people think that the Panhandle is being discussed. I even like "North Central Texas" better, which is the actual term for the area where DFW is.
