Considering that the average city closes its bars by 2:00 or 2:30 a.m., I can't imagine WANTING to stay up another 2+ hours or long enough to warrant seeking another party to turn to! Maybe I'm getting old....

Unfortunately there is little demand for a steak dinner at 5 in the morning, so it's no wonder most places aren't open that late (outside of a very select few cities).
Most fast food is open to 11PM ,restaurants and bars are open to 2AM .

It is cities in the north that restaurants and bars are open to 3AM , most cities in the south like Dallas ,Fort Worth , Tampa and Jacksonville close at 2AM

Here when all the 2am and 3am bars close everyone takes off running to the 4am and 5am bars so they aren't left standing outside in a long line for 20 minutes. I've been there in the winter, dragging my friends out of one bar at 1:30am so we can get to the late night bar before you end up out in the cold swearing because 50 people got there before you.

New Orleans (a city in the South) has bars that *NEVER* close. I always loved drinking all night and walking home at 7 AM when the sun came up!!!

I believe only Miami, NYC, and New Orleans have bars that never close. Is that correct?

Not saying its NYC or Miami, but saying its dead at night is dead wrong.
I've been to Dallas a couple of times. Once I was there with a friend who had lived there most of his life. He wanted to take me to a bar downtown that he liked on a Friday night. When we got there, the bouncer wouldn't let me in because I had on white sneakers. We walked around downtown Dallas aimlessly and couldn't find anything to do. We ended up having drinks at The W Hotel and then calling it a night.

NYC. Chicago. Miami. New Orleans. Las Vegas.

Not surprisingly, all the best nightlife cities as well.

Why did you go downtown??? The nightlife isn't there. When you visit LA, do you go downtown to go out?

State law in Texas, California, as well as many other states say stuff has to close at 2 am. That's what after parties are for.

Well my friend was from there and that's where the original bar was we were going to. Since we couldn't get in, we figured we could find something nearby downtown.
