Now how about my sort-of hometown, Long Beach, New York (not California, or even New Jersey)
Yep, biked out there from Manhattan a few times via Sheepshead Bay, Rockaway Beach, and Atlantic Beach.

No, I have not been there. If I ever get out to New York, there is a possibility. Most towns on Long Island are nice from what I have heard. I have a friend who grew up in Syosset.

I was born in Salem, Mass and also lived there for a couple years not too long ago (2010/2011'sh). I just went back for a visit, I love and miss that city in all seasons. Halloween is a lot of fun there and I've even got acquainted with some wiccans there. The restaurant scene there is improving rapidly. Great place!

Spent an afternoon wandering around Newburyport once. Lovely town, feels very much like Old England.

Never been, but I travel along I-81 through Wilkes-Barre often on my way back and forth between New York (where I currently live) and West Virginia (home).

I've never heard of Hudson, Florida. There's also a Hudson in the Wilkes-Barre area.

Been there. Met some friends at the Inverness. Beautiful city with a beautiful mountain backdrop. I suggest eating at the Inverness.

Also, a little trip to Manitou Springs just outside of town should be priority.
