For overall medical care, which of these cities has the best doctors and medical system? Looking for opinions from anyone who has had experience with two or more of these...

Thanks!

Probably Nashville. I'd also look into Raleigh-Durham.

I agree, though more like Durham-Chapel Hill. Duke University Medical Center is in Durham and the University of North Carolina Hospitals are in Chapel Hill. Both are world-class and about 12 miles apart.

Thanks!
Of those three I would opt for Nashville and Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Emory University Hospital System in Atlanta, along with Piedmont, St Joseph, Northside, and the behemoth Grady Healthcare System.

I vehemently disagree. I work at Emory University Hospital, the main campus. Yes, they do big things at Emory. However, I have one word for the place: SLOPPY! For me to be a patient at Emory's main campus; I'd have to be brought in unconscious. Of the Atlanta hospitals, only one has achieved Magnet status: St. Joseph's Hospital. Of course, Emory just purchased St. Joseph's.

The TS asked specifically about doctors and the medical system. I suggest that the TS also consider the RNs as a measure.

Hospitals Reporting Magnet Status to the 2011 Leapfrog Hospital Survey

I am certain that this list is comprehensive. However, most hospitals, including Emory, are striving to achieve Magnet status.
