According to city-data.com the U.S. national average for crime in a city is 319 incidents per 100,000 people which includes rape, robbery, mugging, murders, assaults, arson, auto thefts, etc..

Miami which is a heavily latino majority metro has 608 incidents (per 2011) per 100,000 which is nearly twice the national average.

San Antonio has 451 incidents per 100,000 which is still a significant amount above the national average.

Los Angeles by comparison only has 285 per 100,000 and is more mixed race but with a 48% latino population.

So i'm trying to figure out which cities in the U.S. have lower than the national average crime rates but also have latino majority populations. So far I haven't been able to find any that fit this criteria.

Please don't assume i'm implying something with this question I want to know for investment reasons.

I've heard this too, and was thinking El Paso. Especially interesting because its right across from Juarez, which is very dangerous.

Phoenix is dang near majority Hispanic. I don't feel like looking up crime statistics but it's pretty safe overall for a city its size.

Last recorded crime rate is at 412 per 100,000 which is higher than the national average. It's definitely not safe. Just a few years back it was in the 600's. That's pretty bad.

Actually it is closer to 40% and many of the areas that are predominantly Latino are also pretty high crime areas.

OP, El Paso is worth considering and how about San Antonio? I don't know about the crime rate, I don't think it is as high as some other majority, minority cities.

Well, Miami is a tiny physical entity of less than 36 square miles of land. It's surrounded by a bunch of other adjacent municipalities. One of those, Coral Gables, is both majority Latin and safer than the national average.
53.6% Latin
2011 crime rate: 269.1
