To break the trend of this forum to put a state or city on some ego driven pedestal, Lets discuss the worst, nit and gritty of a state.

Below is a link listing a worst quality of a state.
It's not 100% science proof ... some of the metrics are taken from poorly qualitative rankings (i.e. North Dakota).
It's supposed to be a bit tongue-in-cheek, but some of the stats will really shock you.

Identity Theft is nowhere near Florida's biggest problem. To sum it up in one word I would say the economy, as it's largely one-dimensional with a proliferation of lower paying service sector jobs that aren't sustainable for long term growth.

It's sad when politicians are worse for your state than gonorrhea.

Highest rate of forcible rape: South Dakota. Is most of that, however, on the western Indian reservations?

That list sucks.

Firstly, there is nothing wrong with Mobile homes, porn, being nerdy, being old, or "ugly". In fact I find the "Ugliest state" one to be downright offensive. Whomever made this map is a putz and needs to be slapped.

Further more, let's look at a few of these:

New York: Daily Commute. WHAT!? Maybe downstate in the NYC area. But this is by far not NY's worst problem as a whole. Again, people are only considering NYC.

Real NY problems: Land taxes, crystal meth production, denial of tornadoes, job economy, poverty, and ignoring the poverty.

Louisiana: Gonorrhea. Again, not the worst problem at all. Especially considering that most std's come in from tourists during Mardi-Gras.

Real Louisiana problems: Corrupt government, Murder rate across the state, no safe cities, racism, over-baring religion, drug trade, gangs, too much emphasis on tourists and to little on residents, and the destruction of so much forest and wetland for McMansions and industry. Also, in my opinion, homes and food cost too much here.

New Mexico: Anti-social. ... BOO-FRIGGIN-HOO! Do I even have to explain this one?

I like the way you broke each list down to the truth. You should do the rest,as I enjoyed how you explained it.

I'd say taxes are pretty true for NJ, but the reasons our taxes are so high are the real issues. High taxes are just the result. You gotta dig deeper than that to find what's really our worst thing.
