Oh definitely North Carolina! Whether this comedian is a fake or not, he's got most of the male population in the country/rural towns of North Carolina down to a tee! (I mean real North Carolinians, not transplants). That's why he cracks me up so much, I met so many just EXACTLY like him during the years I lived there. In fact, my standing joke as a single mom is that I moved to North Carolina to meet a Tim McGraw type, only to find out once I got there, there was nothing but a bunch of "Larry the Cable Guys!".
Unfortunately he's hailed as some sort of pop culture hero in my area, even though we're only two hours from Manhattan.
Hey now, just because Scranton is 2 hours from NYC doesn't mean that some of Pennsylvania isn't as hick as rural North Carolina. Now I wouldn't call Scranton "hick" per say, but you can't really claim NYC either. Scranton is actually not the 6th borough lol.
Sorry not trying to hijack the thread. About Larry, cut him some slack. Some people actually find him funny, although not myself actually. And about the faker thing, its just his job and I'll bet alot of entertainers claim areas they aren't from. I'm sure some rappers act like their from the hood when in reality they grew up middle class.
You mean which state has the most people who actually grew up in Nebraska but poses as a southern redneck for laughs? I don't know, that is a tough one.

More or less our mayor and many other elected officials are trying to make us a less-expensive version of Greenwich Village with the new downtown lofts, coffee houses, galleries, boutiques, ethnic eateries, etc., and since every other economic redevelopment initiative over the past 40 years in Scranton has failed miserably, I see no harm in leeching off of the success of another nearby city in hopes of redefining the city's identity. Calling us the "Sixth Borough" is a bit of a stretch, but it seems like a full 10% of the vehicles on our local roadways bear NY license plates.
I always preferred Ernest P. Worrell. "How ya doin, Vern?"
Hehehehe Me too!!!! I love him and he was a Kentucky boy too!
