Unless, one of you happen to be a secret billionaire City-Data poster.
A better question would be,
What is it about such a relatively new and remote location far removed from most of the world that has allowed it to create a tenth of the world's billionaires?

it makes sense to me that the state that has the largest economy, should also have the largest amount of billionares.

What's there to ask?

The United States has the largest share of the world's billionaires.

California is the most populous state and is the center of the West in the United States.

Great business environment, great schools, and great climate are all great draws for relocating companies or creating one.

10% of the billionaires on the entire planet and a third of the US total? more than Japan and Germany? I think that's pretty noteworthy.

California, USA 95
Russia 48
Germany 46
United Kingdom 41
India 33
Hong Kong 27
Japan 25
Turkey 25
Switzerland 23
China 22
Canada 21
Spain 20
Brazil 18
Saudi Arabia 14
France 12
Italy 12
